Q + A

How should I get to the venue?

If you plan on traveling from Seattle and staying on Bainbridge Island or in Poulsbo, our recommendation is to take the Bainbridge Island Ferry from the Seattle Ferry Terminal. It's both scenic and fast. From the ferry terminal, it's about a 15 minute drive to our venue. If you're staying at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino or at the Fairfield in Poulsbo, there will be a shuttle to and from the wedding.

Is Uber available?

Two people on the island drive Uber. So don't count on getting a car immediately. We will have a shuttle available to use from both recommended hotels.

Where should I stay?

Tim and Rachel have room blocks at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino (5 minutes from venue) and the Fairfield Inn in Poulsbo (15 minutes from the venue). There will be a shuttle from both locations for before and after the wedding.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you feel your most confident! We do ask that you DON'T wear jeans, t-shirts, sneakers or work boots. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors, so you might want to bring a light jacket. Cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, suits, ties, comfortable heels or dress shoes are all great suggestions.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony will start promptly at 4 pm. Both the ceremony and reception are at the same venue. If you are taking a shuttle, runs will occur between 2:30 pm and 3:40 pm, depending on which hotel you're staying at.

Can I bring my child?

We want our grown up friends to party hardy with us that night, so we're keeping tiny ears to a minimum. There will only be a few children present–the bride's nieces and nephews and the bridal party's children. Unless noted on your invitation, please leave the kiddos at home and make the night about you! For kids attending, we are not held responsible for anything they see or hear.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please note those in your RSVP submission. We have chosen meal options that are friendly for our gluten-free and vegan friends.

The football game is on that day. What do we do?

Tim and Rachel are both football fans themselves. If Michigan or Nebraska are playing during the reception, we'll make sure our DJ gives regular score updates. Otherwise, please refrain from watching the game on your phone.

I have a question during the week of the wedding. Who should I reach out to?

The Maid of Honor, Alyssa Judd, or the Best Man, Scott MacPherson, are both great and responsive resources! Alyssa's number is 402-224-0857. Scott's number is 248-924-6430.

What should I expect at this wedding?

A party! Our ceremony will be short but extra sweet. There will be a cocktail hour featuring passed appetizers and drinks. We'll have a plated dinner to keep you well-fed before too much partying happens. You'll enjoy free beer, wine, and signature cocktails all night long! And we'll dance the night away. There's also a high probability there will be an unofficial after party at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino. So bring your nickels!

Did David Lynch's Twin Peaks really film at your wedding venue?

Yes!! The Main Lodge serves as much of the backdrop to the Great Northern Hotel, and also doubles as the Blue Pine Lodge. Built in 1929, much of the log cabin-like interior and unique hand painted murals are unmistakable. The building has gone through a few remodels over the years, however, it doesn’t draw away from the original character. One also cannot forget the big log where Laura washes ashore, wrapped in plastic. Learn more about the venue's Twin Peaks ties here: https://www.kianalodge.com/twin-peaks
